Evaluation System

Evaluation System

The student evaluation system follows a comprehensive and continuous assessment process consisting of Internal Sessional Marking and External Marking, which together form the Final Marks.

The Internal Sessional Marking focuses on continuous student performance throughout the semester and includes:

  • Sheet / Journal / Design / Portfolio work (approx. 60%), which evaluates students’ practical, creative, and technical development.
  • Internal Examination (Mid-Semester / End-Semester) (approx. 30%), conducted through written papers or viva-voce depending on the subject requirements.
  • Attendance (approx. 5%), encouraging discipline and regular participation.
  • General Performance (approx. 5%), reflecting overall involvement, studio participation, and learning attitude.

The External Marking is conducted as per university or subject guidelines and typically includes:

  • Viva-Voce Examination
  • Theory Examination

This structured evaluation system ensures balanced assessment of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, continuous progress, and overall student performance, supporting holistic academic development.
